Why
a float trip with us?
 Alaska
Rainbow Adventures is the leader
when it comes to lodge quality
Alaska float fishing expeditions.
Perhaps your interest is a trip to
Alaska's Bristol Bay region to
tangle with some of the largest and
most plentiful Trophy Rainbow Trout
in the world, or your interest might
be in any of the five species of
Pacific Salmon, Arctic Char, Shefish,
Pike or other species. Whatever you
and your group desire, we offer
Alaska fishing trips at the right
time and on the right rivers to fit
your expectations. The best way to
decide when and where to go, is to
call us and let our many years of
Alaska experience help guide you to
the trip of your dreams. For the
Nature enthusiast and photographer,
we also now offer a limited number
of guided Alaska brown bear and
wildlife viewing float trips during
August. There are also fishing trips
in or near South Central Alaska not
far from Anchorage, Alaska's largest
city. Well for one the fishing is
better on a Alaska Rainbow
Adventures wilderness float trip
because we are on the rivers at the
peak of the salmon runs or during
times when availability is highest
for native species like the rainbow
trout for which our trips are
famous. Of course we also offer
trips targeting other species such
as dolly varden/arctic char,
sheefish, pike and grayling.
Whatever your reason to visit Alaska
our staff of Alaskan guides will
bring to the river that unique local
knowledge of fishing Alaska you can
only get as a resident of the 49th
state.
Think
About This
You do not even have to go back to
the lodge at 5 O’clock because you
are already there, camped right on
the river! You couldn't be any
closer to the fishing as we camp at
the best available fishing holes and
of course you are more then welcome
to fish as much as you like and many
of our guests join us for this
reason alone! We can put you on the
best fishing holes, one after
another all day long as you to
present your hook to fish in the
most effective way from one of our
custom inflatable boats or while
wading
We
Cover
A Lot Of Water
 of
water on our trips much of it where
jet boats and airplanes simply can
not go. Our guides will lead you
through about six to ten miles of
river a day, just the right balance
of wade fishing from the bank as we
stop at hole after hole and of drift
fishing from the boats. Our float
trips also give you more
opportunities for relaxing and
seeing wildlife in their natural
surroundings without being run off
by the sound of an approaching
outboard engine. The "experience"
shared by a group of people on an
adventure through remote, breath
taking wilderness is something that
you will remember forever. Many of
our guests return year after year
renewing friendships formed on the
river with their guides and other
guests they meet on Alaska Rainbow
Adventures float trips.
Daily
Routine
Your wake-up call every morning is
about 7:30 am with hot coffee or
favorite beverage brewing and
breakfast soon follows. After we
eat, you will have time to go back
to your tent to pack up your
personal gear, fold up your, cot,
sleeping pad and tent and take your
gear down to the rafts unless it is
a no travel day then you just go
fishing! The rafts are then loaded
and we start floating around 9:30
am. We spend the morning
float/fishing until lunchtime which
we have streamside. After lunch, we
continue float/fishing to our
evening campsite arriving about 5:30
pm sometimes a bit later depending
on who we had to drag out of that
last hot run on the river. After the
rafts have been unloaded, we all
help set up camp which generally
takes about 30 minutes. Your next
decision is whether to sit back and
just relax or continue fishing the
camp waters. Supper is usually ready
about 7:30 pm. Afterwards you can
wade fish the camp waters until you
are satisfied
KUDOS
From One Of Our Guests
 As
a guide, lodge owner, and booking
agent, it's very difficult for me to
give Kudos. I have seen the best. I
know good fishing, and hunting
operations when I see them. Your
guides are world-class guides, and
most importantly people. The gear is
the finest, and most reliable money
can buy. The food is excellent, as
well. I'll put your float operation
up against any in Alaska. Excellent
Job!! Oh and Kudos! Justin

Your
Accomidations
on the deluxe river trips are in
spacious, high quality tents. Each
of these tents is used to house two
anglers. This provides you ample
space for your gear, as well as a
comfortable retreat should the
weather become inclement. These
tents make getting ready in the
morning a breeze, allowing you to
stand comfortably while gearing up
and putting on waders. We also
provide cots and sleeping pads, a
welcome luxury after a day of
fishing. Each campsite will have a
designated area away from camp, with
the private toilet unit that is
required under the auspices of our
federal permit. We now even offer
unlimited hot showers while on the
river for that fresh have not been
fishing feeling. Please note that
our Intimate rivers trips may offer
a few less of these deluxe comforts,
depending on what we can safely
carry in aircraft and on the rafts. Shown is one of our group dining tents.
Group
Size
 Small
group size is an important part of
our philosophy at Alaska Rainbow
Adventures. By limiting our trips to
no more then six anglers*, we are
able to provide a personal, high
quality wilderness experience. We
usually operate with a three to one
guest / guide ratio and operating
two rafts per trip, occasionally the
ratio ends up being less but never
more. If you are looking for an
outstanding adventure away from the
crowds offering unrestricted fishing
time, a wilderness float with A.R.A.
is exactly what you want. *Please
note that arrangements for larger
groups can be made for trips on some
rivers if your group is larger then
six persons, please call for
details. For groups of less then 6
persons wishing to remain private
there is a 30% of trip price
additional fee, otherwise we reserve
the right to fill any trip with up
to six guests unless you have paid
for private status.
Dinner
Time
Meals are served home style and
offer generous portions of
traditional entrees prepared with
choice cuts of meat and fresh fish.
These come with all the trimmings
and dessert. At midday, a hearty
lunch is prepared on the bank, and
should you need an extra bit of
energy to help you land that big
one, snacks of fresh fruit and
cookies are available. You are
invited to make menu suggestions for
your trip and we will try to
accommodate them whenever possible.
We recommend you drink only filtered
water, which we will provide
throughout the trip.
Our
Rafts
On our deluxe trips state of the art 18' catarafts or 14' self bailing rafts from the largest producer of whitewater craft in America are utilized to get you safely down the river in comfort. Each raft is equipped with a custom rowing frame, floor, and for angler comfort, padded high back seats. For our intimate rivers program we may utilize smaller catarafts or rafts, however all of these craft provide a safe, comfortable platform for fishing and relaxing while drifting downstream in search of what action awaits around the next bend. For fishing on our "local waters", we use boats set up specifically for these shorter 1/2 to 2 day trips.
